Adjusting power efficiency in Windows can greatly affect how long a battery powered laptop can run on a single charge. Learn how to use a built in tool in Windows 7 called the Power Efficiency Report. This report will help us tweak the power settings logically for maximum efficiency.

Steps to create report…

A) Click Start, type command prompt in the Start Search box, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator

B) At the command prompt, type powercfg -energy.

The evaluation will complete in 60 seconds. When it has finished, an HTML report file that is named “energy-report.html”will be generated in the current path.

Note: You may need to make a copy of the HTML file before opening or a “file not found error” may occur.
