Mach3 Motor Tuning – Upgrading Stepper Motor Procedure

Posted by & filed under Video Post.

I decided to upgrade the Y axis of the homemade JGRO CNC controlled router. Increased speed missed steps and strength were the deciding factors for this upgrade. Currently the machine has three small 80 ounce motors on all axis’s and we are planning to only change out the Y at this time. The Y axis carries most of the weight of the three corners.

This video shows how we replace the stepper motor and configure and tune Mach3 to accept the new hardware that is necessary to obtain the full benefits of the upgrade.
