Vintage Slide Presentation Equipment – Audio/Video Dissolve Animation

Before digital entertainment was invented for mainstream use (early 90s), professionals used analog tools to create their art for dramatic expressions. Shown in this video is one such system used by professional photographers and designers. Things are much simpler to do now as you can probably guess from learning of this old school approach.

Up to 3 Kodak Ektagraphic slide film projectors were registered to one another and a controller who’s memory was in the form of audio cassette tape was used to recall the advancing, dissolving and frame. Using multiple machines made it possible to blend images together to create a stop animation effect and all was usually put to music for its final public display.
