Setting Up Auto Bed Leveling on 3D Printer

Posted by & filed under Video Post.

We decided to install auto bed leveling on our Prussia I3V 3D printer in hopes of eliminating some common printing problems and simplify the setup process.

The parts are simple… a normally closed micro switch and a small RC servo were used in the hardware. Two parts were printed in ABS as the probe mechanism and were found on http://www.thingiverse.com/. The Firmware for the Merlin electronics update were found at http://reprap.org/

This addition of an auto bed leveler has proved itself to us in multiple jobs and is highly recommended for all to consider as our prints have gone from OK to nearly perfect.

We test out the new process by printing a rubber bracelet!
